Representatives of Bemisal received recognition from El Zamorano University, as part of an event commemorating the 75th anniversary of the educational institution. During the event, other entities that have supported Agro, agroindustrial and environmental growth during all these years were also recognized, among them INSAFORP, Embassy of China-Taiwan, and HERBERT DE SOLA FOUNDATION, among others.
“In the name of Bemisal, I receive this recognition with great humility, which encourages us to continue supporting an institution as prestigious as El Zamorano University. We are a Santaneca company that believes in Salvadoran youth and therefore we know that it is important to support education as the only way to economically and socially develop our beloved El Salvador, “said Francisco Quiñonez, president of Bemisal after receiving the award.
On April 4, Bemisal and El Zamorano signed an agreement with the aim of joining forces to enhance human capital and contribute to university education access for low-income Salvadorans, by promoting competitiveness, scientific and technological development.
Thanks to the agreement, a professional training program has been created in favor of young Salvadoran nationals, with academic excellence and low economic resources, and funds have been made available to cover 2 half scholarships, during the years 2017 and 2018 so that the two beneficiaries attend their fourth year university studies at ZAMORANO, (1 scholarship holder each year), in order to obtain the degree of Engineers in agricultural science and production, agro-food industry, agro business or environment and development.
Bemisal has granted a contribution of US $ 20,100 to El Zamorano University to benefit, primarily from the Santa Ana Department, who must have maintained a global academic index equal to or greater than 80% or its equivalent in the last 3 years of study.
